Who showed up for you? What did they do that mattered so much?

Was there anyone who surprised you, by showing up or by not showing up?

After the crisis was “over”

When did you notice that people expected you to get better and move on?

What did people say or do that told you they thought it was over?

What was it like to realize you were becoming a chronic person? Was there a specific moment?

Where did everybody go?

Who faded away, and how did that feel?

Why do you think people pulled back? Fear, fatigue, not knowing what to say?

Who stayed? What made them different?

Did you ever feel you had to hide or downplay how you were doing?

Yes No Sometimes

What you wish people knew

What's something people don't understand about living with an illness that doesn't go away?
